How I found this delightful incense

Jivada incense first came into my life during the years I lived as a Buddhist monk. The abbot of our monastery had a particular preference for Jivada's Hanuman Rose. He believed it had the power to uplift the atmosphere of the monastery and it became a distinctive keynote for the monks, nuns and visitors.

After I disrobed I was encouraged by the monks to make this incense more widely available which has been the main inspiration behind this website.

I finally tracked down the family in India that are the makers and discovered that there were many other wonderful scents in their range.

Humble origins and happy customers

While studying homeopathy I sold Jivada Incense at the Totnes market and was impressed by how passionate some of my customers became about the distinctive quality of the scents. They would often say that they tried other incense but it was just not the same.
